For the past few weeks, I have taken a break from the abstracts that are inspired from within and have been working with nature as a reference. I had been invited to create a work or two that reflected the Cylburn Arboretum here in Baltimore for the group exhibition “A Celebration of Art at Cylburn” to be held there over the weekend of June 18th and 19th. For more information on the exhibition, contact www.cylburnassociation.org. Creating a series of paintings, I pushed the beautiful springtime colors of the flowering bushes and trees even further while I exaggerated their shapes and lines. Come down to the exhibition at Cylburn to see my work, along with the work of some of the best artists in the Baltimore area. Here is a photo I took of one of the many areas that inspired me with its layers of colors.
