I’ve had two chances recently to catch up with art friends that I have not seen in some time. The first was at an art reception at the Edward A. Myerberg Senior Center for Ruth Pettus and her class, including Helene Ageloff, Claudia Cameron, Jennifer Berk, and Nancy Lucas. The show was incredible! I took Ruth’s class a year or so back and enjoyed her style of teaching as well as working with this talented group of artists. Each has a unique freedom and looseness to their style that is captivating. From paintings of vegetables to figures and faces, there was a little bit of everything in the exhibit. So nice to see everyone and their work!
Later that same week, I got together with another group of former classmates from a painting class taught by Betsey Heuisler. Betsey, Bev Davis, Lois Feinblatt, Maxine Saunders, Bert Wallace, and I got together for a pot luck lunch to chat about art and life. Wonderful memories of a fun and nurturing class.
I am so glad to have forged friendships through the classes I have taken. I have been truly inspired by my teachers and my classmates. Their generosity has helped me to evolve into the artist that I am today.
