I am deeply connected to my art. It is a part of me and together we have been through good times and bad. As a human being, I am affected by what is happening to me specifically and what is happening in the world at large. In these days of conflict, natural disasters, and recessions it is good to have my artwork as a way to explore the attached emotions. This does not necessarily mean that all of my artwork lately is dark. It is searching, trying to make sense of things. It leads me to the beauty in the world as well as the ugliness. As my friend and I discussed today, in these difficult times, going forward and living our best lives is the answer. It is important for me to draw and paint openly and freely, expressing my inner self. I am grateful for the gift of my art.
